Cognitive Engine

A separate engine for routine decisions. It earns the right to decide by passing a test on cases it has never seen, and returns unclear cases for review.

  • Learns from checked results
  • Proves itself on new cases
  • AI advice only if you turn it on
  • Connects through a standard link (API)

Start with a business need

Make routine work easier to manage.

Start with a process you can measure. Test a worker against how you do it today, then judge its value with your own volumes, costs and review time.

Spend less effort on routine steps

Hand repeatable steps to a worker and use fixed checks where the rules are clear. Weigh the time saved against hosting, AI use and upkeep before you expand.

How the cost works

Give your team more capacity

Let workers handle defined tasks while people review exceptions and make decisions that need judgment. Measure how much capacity this frees before expanding to more work.

See how it works

Test before expanding automation

Check the workflow with sample data and test runs. Add your business rules and approval steps, and read the run records before connecting it to real systems.

See the safeguards

Keep control after export

Nx·Studio gives you source code you can edit and run on your own systems. Your IT team looks after it and connects it to your AI provider and other software.

Why ownership matters
Illustrative example

Estimate the opportunity, then test it.

Suppose a team matches 2,000 invoices a month to purchase orders, at about six minutes each by hand: 200 hours of routine work.

1,500

Invoices matched automatically each month

Assuming 75% can be handled by the defined checks.

500

Invoices left for your team

The remaining 25% would still need human review.

150

Potential routine hours saved

Potential routine time saved before review, setup and operating costs.

Illustrative example, not a customer result. It assumes three in four invoices pass your matching rules and those checks replace six minutes of manual work each. It excludes setup, review and operating costs. Validate these assumptions with your own process.

How it works

From a defined task to a tested worker.

Use Nx·Studio to turn your process into software you can edit, with a review at each stage.

Step 1 · Describe

Start with one clearly defined task.

Describe the task, the information it needs and the result you expect. Add documents or notes so Nx·Studio can suggest a workflow based on how you really work.

Step 2 · Refine

Shape the steps and approval points.

Nx·Studio turns what you shared into a workflow you can edit. Adjust its steps, rules and approval points on screen, or review the changes its AI assistant suggests.

Step 3 · Test

Try the workflow with sample data.

Run the worker on sample data and check the results and approval steps. Some test runs use stand-in connections, so test the real ones before going live.

Step 4 · Export

Export it for your IT team to run.

Download the worker as a software project. Your IT team sets up logins, hosting and the software it relies on, then tests it on your systems. It runs without Nx·Studio.

The industry's own forecast
“

By the close of 2027, Gartner forecasts that more than 40% of agentic AI initiatives will be abandoned. It points to costs that climb, benefits that remain unclear, or risks that are poorly managed.

Check cost, value and risk before rollout.

01
Escalating costs

See test results and AI use before you decide what to launch.

02

03

The Foundation

Review the worker before you rely on it.

Nx·Studio gives you tools to check and test a worker before export. Set them up for your process, and check the package before it goes live.

01
Test runs first

See it work on sample records.

Create sample data and watch test runs in Nx·Studio. Some connections are stand-ins, so test the real ones before using real systems.

02
Rules you can inspect

Make business rules explicit.

Write your rules and review the checks made from them. Fixed checks need no AI, while steps that use AI still need testing. Make sure the workflow covers your exceptions.

03
Readable workflows

Review the steps and handoffs.

Switch between the workflow view and the team view, look at saved versions and review the edits the AI suggests. Readiness checks point out problems before export.

04
Inspect the export

Check the package you receive.

Export code you can edit, with the options your worker needs and a signed list of its contents. Your IT team should check and test each package.

Keep the worker's code

Nx·Studio exports the source code for your own systems, and the worker runs without Nx·Studio. Your team looks after logins, hosting, updates and upkeep.

Sample data first

Create sample records to try a workflow before using real data. Check what the tests cover and which connections are stand-ins. Review your AI provider's data settings before using sensitive information.

Keep people in the workflow

Put a person at any step that needs a decision. You pick who that is, and they can answer in the review inbox, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email.

Review actions and outcomes

Read the workflow, the rules made from it and the run records. Every approval is recorded. Signed contents help your IT team check a package, but they are not a regulatory certification.

Before you get started

What to know before building a worker.

Ask us something else
How do we know it's worth it before we commit?

Pick one repeatable process and note its current time, cost and error rate. Design and test a worker in Nx·Studio using sample data. Compare the results with today's numbers, allowing for review time, hosting, AI use and upkeep. Test results support a pilot; they do not guarantee savings.

What can our team keep and run?

Nx·Studio exports a complete software project you can edit. Your IT team sets up its logins and hosting, then looks after the code. What is inside depends on the worker and the options you pick.

How do the four products work together?

Digital workers are what you get. Nx·Studio is where you design, test and export them. Nx IDE helps your developers work on that code, or any other software. The Cognitive Engine is a separate product for routine decisions, which your IT team connects through its own link (API). None of these connections is automatic.

Who reviews changes and decisions?

In Nx IDE, approval settings decide what the AI assistant may do alone. Its optional team mode adds a separate tester and reviewer, and a person makes the final call. Workers can include approval steps. The Cognitive Engine sends unclear cases back for review.

What should we budget for?

Plan for design and build, hosting, AI provider fees, connection work and upkeep. Costs depend on the workflow, your systems and the features you choose. Talk to Nexgile about pricing and support; owning the code does not settle those terms on its own.

Discuss pricing and scope
What data do we need for a first test?

None of your own: Nx·Studio can create sample records for a first test. Think carefully about which documents you share. Before going live, check with your team how your AI provider handles data, what each connection may access and how hosting is set up.
